KARACHI: At least 110 individuals were murdered in a fire at a outfit manufacturer in Pakistan’s biggest city Karachi, an formal said Wed.
“We have retrieved 110 systems so far and are still looking for more affected individuals,” Karachi flame primary Ehtesham Salim informed AFP.
“We found a multitude of individuals deceased in a large room of the factory’s underground room.
It was totally burnt off and parts of it were smouldering, which we put out before changing the systems to medical centers,” Salim said.
“Our firemen are looking every place and area of the manufacturer despite having restricted sources to deal with such a severe situation,” he said.
Salim added that the fire was Karachi’s “biggest flame in terms of fatalities in decades”.
In Jan 2009, 40 individuals were murdered, more than half of them children, when a flame surrounded a multitude of wood made houses in Karachi’s poor Baldia local community.
Factory workers said that they made nasty eating utensils and under apparel.
The loss of life cost was improved considerably up-wards after cops previously said the flame, which exploded delayed Wed, had murdered nine workers.
Some screaming and weeping family members of stuck workers, wanting to get inside the building, scuffled with cops during the evening, an AFP digital photographer said.

Abdus Salam, a physician at Karachi’s Municipal Medical center, said 10 women were among the deceased outfit workers.

Around 150 workers were working at the time in one of the factory’s three round-the-clock changes, Saleem said.
Officials said the cause of the Karachi flame was not yet known but Rauf Siddiqi, the industry reverend for Sindh region, said the manufacturer proprietor was under research for carelessness.
“We have requested an questions into how the flame exploded and why proper urgent leaves were not offered at the manufacturer so that the workers could evade,” Siddiqi said.
According to DawnNews, Internal Minister Rehman Malik instructed IG Sindh to examine the occurrence and include the name of factory’s proprietor in the Quit Control List (ECL).
Earlier on Wed, at least 21 individuals were murdered at a shoes manufacturer in Lahore.
